In 2012, a sailor from the Morbihan region (Brittany, France), gave us a free pass to design a boat adapted to his local sailing. The brief also included masting and sailing single-handed. Bihan 6.50 was also to blend in visually with the traditional local sailing boats. To meet all these specifications, the boat is equipped with a self-tacking jib, a houari mainsail, and an asymmetrical spinnaker on a snuffer. The interiors are simple but with a warm mood. They can shelter 4 persons for a cruising week-end. The red cedar strip-planking hull feature a full-length hard chine, which, combined with its lightweight displacement of only 800kg, give the boat very good performance, planning under spinnaker. The lifting keel retracts entierly inside the hull, for easy access to the beaches of the region's beautiful islands...
